The Final at Daytona Milton Keynes
The final of the National Karting Championship 2009 will be held at Daytona Milton Keynes and it is going to be amazing!
The senior class will be running on Daytona’s exciting new 80mph 2-stroke DMAX karts.
With 50% more horsepower, lighter weight and more grip than the twin-engine fleet, these karts are a genuine challenge to drive!

Daytona’s powerful twin-engined Prokarts will be at the disposal of the junior class finalists, who must tame their 60mph machines if they want to be champion of the 12-15 year old category.

The fastest 8-11 year olds in the country will contest the final in Daytona’s dynamic cadet karts, propelled by a derestricted 160cc engine and capable of speeds of up to 40mph.

PRACTICE
Every driver will get 5 laps practice on the day. However Daytona have also arranged a very special NKA Championship only practice session on the day before (Saturday 7th November).
- Cadets will run from 4.30pm to 6.30pm on the National Circuit.
- Juniors will run from 6.30pm to 8pm on the International Circuit.
- Seniors will run from 8pm to 9.30pm on the Interntional Circuit.
If you would like to book in please call Daytona Milton Keynes on 0845 644 5503. The cost is Daytona's standard arrive and drive rate.
THE CIRCUIT
The Senior and Junior classes will run on the full 1360m 'international' circuit.
The Cadet class will run on the smaller 900m 'national' circuit. This circuit uses many of the corners from the 'international' track and is just as challenging.
There are a few key corners to the circuit:
- Use all the kerb on the entry into the chicane (turn 2)
- Get a good line through the off-camber turn 6
- Maintain momentum through the tight turn 8 so you carry speed all the way up the hill
- If it's wet, you'll find a lot of grip off from the racing line
RACE FORMAT
Races will be run to a Grand Prix sprint format, with practice sessions preceding a series of heats which will decide the outcome in each class.
Good luck to everyone!
